26 March 2013

On the 25th March in the House of Commons, Frank Field MP secured an urgent question to the Secretary of State for Health, Jeremy Hunt MP. He asked  ”what moves the Government intend to take to prevent the National Health Service becoming an international health service.”  Nicholas Soames MP asked the Secretary of State for Health if he agreed that it is through access to primary care that the initial control on NHS access should take place. He also highlighted the need for all hospitals to have an overseas visitors manager who should be designated and required to collect overseas visitors’ moneys on a more regular basis. The full transcript of the debate be found here http://tinyurl.com/cehg6nv
